Thailand’s national upstream company PTTEP plans to replace a gas pipeline in Myanmar, which will facilitate the reliable supply of volumes from its Zawtika field to the commercial capital Yangon.

Zawtika historically has produced up to 345 million cubic feet per day of gas, of which some 100 MMcfd is destined for domestic customers.

Gas flows from Zawtika via a 300-kilometre pipeline — 230 kilometres offshore and a further 70 kilometres onshore — to Kanbauk near the border with Thailand.
