Thai operator PTTEP is understood to have awarded a contract to Noble of the US for a jack-up rig to drill a development well at its Montara oilfield off Western Australia.
Industry sources said PTTEP has picked up the jack-upNobleTom Prosser for a 60-day charter, with another six-day option, starting in September this year.
The company tendered for the rig early this year, seeking a 400-feet unit warm-stacked in Asia.
