Thailand’s national upstream company PTTEP is considering major asset sales as the player looks to streamline its E&P portfolio, writes Amanda Battersby.
The operator is understood to be mulling over the divestment of its Mariana oil sands project in Canada and also its Montara oilfield off Australia, although the latter asset is still the subject of ongoing legal action.
PTTEP chief executive Somporn Vongvuthipornchai said the review of its non-core assets comes after parent PTT reviewed its portfolio to ascertain what did not provide a sufficient return on investment.
