Public comments have closed on Norwegian operator Equinor’s planned Stromlo-1 deep-water exploration well in the environmentally-sensitive Great Australian Bight, writes Russell Searancke.
The 30-day public comment period ended on 20 March.
The comments that have been submitted to Australia's National Offshore Petroleum & Safety Environmental Management Authority (Nopsema) will be provided to Equinor, which will then prepare a report detailing how it has considered the comments received and any amendments that are necessary to Equinor’s final environment plan which will cover the proposed drilling operation.
