Australian operator BHP has shut down its Pyrenees oilfield off Western Australia to upgrade the project's floating production, storage and offloading vessel, writes Russell Searancke.
A BHP spokesperson confirmed the "planned programme of work at Pyrenees started in early July" and the total shutdown would last 70 days, meaning completion in mid-September.
Singapore-based SembCorp Marine is understood to have been awarded the contract to upgrade the Pyrenees Venture FPSO, which is operated and maintained by Modec.
