Qatar Petroleum (QP) has set the ball rolling on a key front-end engineering design (FEED) contract covering the offshore infrastructure required for the expansion of its giant North Field, a project believed to be worth billions of dollars.
Multiple industry sources told Upstream that Qatar Petroleum subsidiary Qatargas has sought interests from leading international engineering contractors to participate in the FEED tender that includes at least six new wellhead platform topsides and other offshore facilities required for its North Field Expansion (NFE) project.
