Qatar has decided to merge its two key state-owned liquefied natural gas producers, Qatargas and RasGas, into a single entity as it looks to drive efficiencies and reducing costs.

State-owned Qatar Petroleum (QP), which owns a majority stake in both companies, said it will “integrate the activities of RasGas and Qatargas operating companies under a single entity, named Qatargas”.

The merged company “will operate all of the ventures currently being operated by both entities”, it added.
