The QGI consortium has abandoned $1.5 billion worth of integration work on two large floating production, storage and offloading vessels meant for pre-salt operations off Brazil, after clashing with Petrobras over contractual terms.
QGI’s surprise decision to quit the job occurred on 13 February, on the eve of Carnival week in Brazil, after months of tense negotiations between the two parties.
