Qatar Petroleum (QP) is set to take part in exploration drilling in frontier waters off Kenya next year after tying up deals to farm into a trio of blocks with Eni and Total, write Barry Morgan and Eoin O'Cinneide.
The Qatari state giant has taken a 25% stake in each of blocks L11A, L11B and L12, three contiguous offshore licences in the Lamu basin running south and abutting the maritime boundary with Tanzania.
