Qatar Petroleum (QP) has handed Northern Offshore long-term charters for two jack-up drilling rigs to work on its giant North Field Expansion project off Qatar.
The state giant has signed firm contracts for the Energy Enticer and Energy Edge, which are currently under construction at China’s Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipyard.
QP will take the rigs on four-year firm contracts, plus options, with the Energy Enticer expected to start work off Qatar in April next year and the Energy Edge starting in June 2020.
