The engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC) contract for Petronas’ giant Kasawari sour gas project off its native Malaysia could come down to a race between domestic rivals Malaysia Marine & Heavy Engineering (MMHE) and Sapura Energy.
Sources said the two leading Malaysian contractors — perhaps as consortia leaders — are both in the race, and that it was too early to pick a favourite.
