ONGC has asked the duo to match an even lower price of $164 million, which was offered in a disqualified bid by US engineering giant McDermott.
However, sources claim that its unlikely that Ramunia will agree to match McDermott’s bid.
Earlier, McDermott had mistakenly revealed its price of $164 million for the WO-16 tender leading to its disqualification from the process.
Later, when price bids of other technically qualified bidders were opened earlier this month, they were all much higher than McDermott’s price.
