Already, some BP staff are back in Algiers and a few may have visited the sister gas facility at In Salah, but In Amenas will remain out of bounds until new security measures are in place.
“We’re still waiting for assurances on security,” said the BP official. “But there is good progress (and) things are moving in the right direction.”
BP staff should be able to return to In Amenas in 2014 “sooner rather than later”, he said.
