A hefty impairment and high taxes pushed Aker BP into the red in the third quarter as the company’s production was also hit by technical issues, writes Steve Marshall.

The Anglo-Norwegian independent reported a quarterly net loss of $43 million, versus a year-earlier profit of $116 million, as revenue dropped to $723 million from $966 million in the same period of 2018, while operating profit was slashed to $196 million from $509 million.
