Rudi Rubiandini, secretary to BPMigas chairman Raden Priyono, said about 5000 ageing wells and 50 shut-in fields across the country might deliver additional production of 200,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day to Pertamina.
“If Pertamina maximises production of those wells and fields, national oil and gas production will increase. It’s better than acquiring other companies’ blocks that, in the end, don’t add to the country’s total production,” he said.
