Indian private sector giant Reliance Industries has revived its $3 billion-plus R-Series gas development and satellite project in deep-water Block D6 off India’s east coast.

The operator highlighted its intent this week by inviting a select group of contractors to tender for the development’s major subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines workscope.

Those seen as the likely contenders for the SURF engineering, procurement, construction and installation tender include French contractor Technip, US giant McDermott, Italy’s Saipem, Oslo-­listed Subsea 7, Switzerland-based Allseas and Singapore’s Emas ­Chiyoda Subsea, sources said.
