Chinese yard CIMC Raffles has found jobs for three high-spec deep-water rigs in the North Sea and South China Sea.
This offers some relief to the yard in Shandong province, which — as with other Chinese yards — has been suffering from an overhang of rigs that were abandoned by the companies that originally ordered them.
Industry officials said UK operator Neptune Energy has chartered the semi-submersible Beacon Atlantic for work in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea that will last 1000 days, starting in the second half this year.
