Renamo, Mozambique’s main opposition party, is contesting the results of the 15 October general elections, citing “irregularities” in the polls.
On 27 October, the country’s National Election Commission announced that the ruling Frelimo party secured 73% of the votes, with President Filipe Nyusi also re-elected for a second term with roughly the same percentage of voters.
Renamo is taking up its complaint with Mozambique's Constitutional Council.
