Just as Germany has decided to stop using nuclear power and eventually coal, Norway should pledge to phase out oil and gas production by a certain date, according to one of the country’s recent petroleum ministers.
Norway should “signal to the world that the future is renewable”, Aaslaug Marie Haga, who served as petroleum and energy minister from 2007 to 2008, told newspaper Aftenposten.
