It is understood that the report is being compiled by a taskforce that has been working on the study all year.
The taskforce was first mooted several years ago during Mari Alkatiri's time as prime minister, and gained momentum under subsequent premier Jose Ramos-Horta and current Prime Minister Xanana Gusmao.
East Timor's Minister for Natural Resources Alfredo Pirese said earlier this year that the taskforce would study the "technical, commercial, and socio-economic aspects" of bringing Sunrise gas to the country.
