The well is one of the most important to be drilled in this part of the equatorial margin in years.
The jack-up Atwood Beacon recently arrived off Guyana to drill the Repsol-operated well. The Jaguar-1 well is located in water depths of about 250 metres of water. The target depth is 6500 metres below the seabed.
The well will take about six months to drill to investigate the geological objectives.
