Repsol has begun exploring development options for its Leon discovery in the Gulf of Mexico after lining up engineering giant KBR to carry out early conceptual study work.
Sources cautioned that the Spanish major remains in the preliminary stages of its project work on the Keathley Canyon discovery, but at least one said it is leaning in the direction of a floating production, storage and offloading unit as a potential development solution.
