Spanish energy giant Repsol has lifted the curtain on the first-phase development of the Stanley gas project in Papua New Guinea by inviting bids from major contractors for a design competition that will culminate in selecting a construction contractor.
Four or five contractor groups are understood to have been shortlisted to submit offers for the design competition.
Those groups are led by Clough, Downer, Kentz (SNC Lavalin), Monadelphous and possibly one other party, said sources, all of whom have very solid track records in PNG.
