Statoil has been given a safety consent to use newbuild jack-up Askepott for drilling work at its Oseberg Vestflanken 2 field development off Norway.
The so-called Category J unit, delivered from South Korean yard Samsung Heavy Industries earlier this year, has also gained an acknowledgement of compliance from the Petroleum Safety Authority stating it is fit for operations off the country.
