Overall, drillers added 17 rigs in the week to 3 February, with one addition coming in the US Gulf of Mexico, bringing the total US rig count to 729 — split between 707 land rigs and 22 offshore drilling units, energy services giant Baker Hughes said.
Oklahoma saw the biggest increase, adding six rigs for a total of 102. The rise was seen in the state’s Cana Woodford play, which added seven rigs.
