US drillers shed eight oil rigs, the first drop in three weeks, according to the latest weekly tally from energy services provider Baker Hughes.
Rigs chasing oil declined to 825, but still up five from last year’s figure. Gas units were down two rigs for 187.
Overall, the US rig count fell by 10 to 1012, only one more unit than last year’s count.
