The US onshore rig count increased from 482 rigs to 488 rigs in the past week, according to the latest figures from services giant Baker Hughes, but the total is still off by 312 compared to the same period a year ago.
The overall US count increased by five, with the offshore count holding flat at 20 and a decrease of one rig working inland waters for a total of three.
