Aker BP has lined up the jack-up Maersk Interceptor to sink a high-pressure, high-temperature wildcat at the Kark prospect off Norway later this year.

The 2/1-17S probe will be drilled in a water depth of around 67 metres in Aker BP-operated production licence 019C in the North Sea, about 30 kilometres north of ConocoPhillips’ Ekofisk field centre.

The drilling operation is due to start on 19 August at the earliest and has an estimated duration of 196 days, including two possible sidetracks into the main well, testing and plugging.
