The Brazilian oil company and the French contractor responsible for the riser system for the BW Pioneer FPSO in the Cascade-Chinook field separately said they will launch an investigation.
“Petrobras will only be able to forecast the beginning of production of the project when this investigation is concluded,” Petrobras told Upstream. Petrobras said it notified the US Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation & Enforcement (BOEMRE) of the incident on 23 March.
