The VV-1X well on prospect B in the Cuu Long basin was drilled to a total depth of 3755 metres, but was plugged and abandoned after a basement test indicated the structure would not flow.
Promising oil shows were encountered at the well in two different Oligocene intervals from 2886 to 3363 metres and from 3404 metres to 3442 metres, but these intervals were not tested.
