Rosneft president Nikolay Borisenko has been quoted as saying that the company and its partner in the project, Gazprom subsidiary Stroytransgaz, are planning to invest $1.3 billion during the development stage.
A Rosneft spokesman said the company was unable to provide further details on the project or whether Rosneft is interested in expanding into further upstream business in Algeria or elsewhere outside Russia.
