Russia's Rosneft is planning to spud and test two exploration wells in the remote Taymyr district of East Siberia's Krasnoyarsk region between 2020 and 2021, despite an unsuccessful campaign nearby by privately held compatriot Lukoil, writes Vladimir Afanasiev.
The first well will be drilled at the Kupchiktakhsky block, with a second to follow at the Kungasalakhsky block.
Rosneft obtained licences for the two blocks in 2016, with the total acreage covering more than 8000 square kilometres.
