Iran's President Hassan Rouhani has ruled out talks with US President Donald Trump while he maintains economic sanctions that have decimated Iranian oil exports, writes Nassir Shirkhani.

Rouhani suggested any meeting with the US president while sanctions are in place would be "just a photo opportunity" and that the White House "holds the key" as to what happens next.

Iran’s economy is reeling under US sanctions that Trump reimposed last year after tearing up the 2015 nuclear deal between Tehran and world powers.
