The impeachment process against Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff started making its way through the country’s Senate this week, despite a half-hearted attempt at filibustering by Speaker Renan Calheiros.
An opposition-dominated Senate committee will start analysing the impeachment proposal on 25 April and, with approval highly likely, the motion is expected to reach the floor of the upper house by 12 May.
