Rig contractor Rowan will lay off another 40 to 50 people assigned to work on one of its drillships in the Gulf of Mexico as it moves the unit into warm stacking, writes Luke Johnson.
Rowan said in a letter to the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) that the "mass lay-off" is due to Cobalt's termination of its contract from ultra-deepwater rig Rowan Reliance.
