In December, Sistema filed an appeal with the Moscow court against Ural-Invest, seeking repayment of more than $2 billion that Sistema paid to four investment vehicles in Bashkiria to buy a controlling stake in Bashneft in 2009.
Sistema said these investment vehicles transferred the proceeds to Ural-Invest, controlled by Ural Rakhimov, a son of former Bashkiria president Murtaza Rakhimov.
