Ruspetro hopes to use Schlumberger’s expertise in horizontal drilling and multi-stage hydraulic fracturing to help plan the initial development of its holdings.
The company is planning extensive coring and logging of the Jurassic and Bashenov sections on Ruspetro’s 300,000-acre position located across three blocks in western Siberia.
Fiscal terms of the deal were not released, but Ruspetro said Schlumberger’s pay was “directly linked to production results”.
