Last week, Russia's tax authorities informed the court that they were no longer upholding earlier claims against seven Russian and offshore-registered companies that are shareholders in Russneft.
Tax authorities presented their claims to the court in April 2007, saying that these companies had traded Russneft shares among themselves at "below market prices", thus evading payment of taxes, and that their shares should be nationalised.
