Scientists in the US state of Washington have enlisted the help of marine engineering player Saab Seaeye to help monitor populations of rockfish, which are in danger of extinction due to overfishing.
Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife has selected the Saab Seaeye underwater robotic vehicle Falcon to assess the health of the species in Puget Sound.
The one-metre-long vehicle can reach depths of about 300 metres and can be deployed from a small research vessel.
