Statoil chief executive Eldar Saetre has expressed concern about the decreasing appetite of international oil companies for activity on the Norwegian continental shelf.
Saetre told Upstream he is unhappy with the signs of reduced interest by the oil supermajors.
“I would prefer it if the big players showed more interest in acreage on the Norwegian continental shelf," he said.
"In general, we want to see diversity among players in Norway. However, we have seen that some international companies have toned down their activity, especially on operated fields, which is not a desirable development,” he added.
