Italy’s Eni has rejected calls from its own ranks to temporarily halt output from the Goliat floating production platform in Norway’s sector of the Barents Sea due to safety concerns.
Union representatives in Eni and senior safety officials on the Goliat platform have urged management to shut in production in order to iron out teething problems and complete outstanding commissioning work on the cylindrical floater, which came on line in March.
