Saipem’s bidding price was $758 million, compared with Subsea 7’s $786 million and Technip’s $816 million, according to Pemex’s procurement data.

The 18-inch pipeline will stretch for 142 kilometres as part of an ambitious subsea tie back development at water depths up to 1000 metres.

The contract will cover installation of eight wellheads and two manifolds, plus start-up and commissioning.

Formal award of the contract is slated for June 27.

One
