The contract was signed by Waha Oil Company with the Italian engineering giant’s local subsidiary Salico following what one source described as a “knock-down, drag-out” fight with rivals, including Technip.
The two new fields will be tied in to the existing infrastructure of the five-year-old Waha joint venture between the state-owned National Oil Corporation (NOC)and US players ConocoPhillips, Marathon Oil and Hess.
