Italian contractor Saipem is poised to sweep the board at the multi-billion-dollar expansion of BP’s Tangguh liquefied natural gas project in Indonesia, landing both the major onshore and offshore contracts on offer.
Well-placed sources said the Milan-headquartered company, along with several bidding partners, is the preferred contractor for the LNG train. Saipem, going it alone, was also the lowest bidder for the offshore platforms and pipelines package.
