Much of Italian oilfield services giant Saipem’s subsea research and development takes place in the western Paris suburb of St-Quentin en Yvelines, not far from the Palace of Versailles.
Saipem cemented its place in the country with the 2002 acquisition of French firm Bouygues Offshore and today the company’s French offices bustle with more than 2500 employees.
Stephanie Abrand, manager of Saipem’s innovation and technology development department, joined the engineering company the same month the merger was finalised.
