SAMSUNG Heavy Industries has completely revamped its corporate structure as the South Korean yard looks to capitalise on what it sees as golden business opportunities for building floating production, storage and offloading vessels and other specialised ships. The move came in direct response to its oil and gas industry clients who had noted that while FPSO hulls were designed and built by Samsung's shipbuilding division, topsides were handled independently by its offshore construction team because of their platform fabrication expertise.
