BHP believes the Samurai discovery in the US Gulf of Mexico is a commercial find, and plans to work with operator Murphy over the next year on the next steps, writes Kathrine Schmidt.
BHP sees the potential for a tie-back for the discovery, and is working through options for a host, though it does not see its own operated Shenzi development as a likely option due to its distance from the find.
