In a four-well multi-lateral pilot programme in Grant and Alfalfa counties in Oklahoma and Harper County, Kansas, Sand-Ridge was able to drill wells for a lower cost and initial results showed higher estimated ultimate recoveries than the company had modelled before drilling.
The pilot experimented with both dual-lateral wells targeting different vertical sections of the Mississippi Lime formation as well as “co-planar” wells that spread out side-by-side through the formation at the same depth.
