Malaysia’s Sapura Energy is set to win a contract to supply a wellhead platform for the third phase development of the North Malay Basin project being developed off Malaysia by US operator Hess.
In addition, sources said that compatriot Malaysia Marine & Heavy Engineering (MMHE) is in line to supply a mercury removal unit for the same development.
Industry sources said that Sapura beat competition from local rivals Brooke Dockyard and Engineering, Muhibbah Engineering, OceanMight and MMHE to snare the Bergading B wellhead platform prize, for which it is understood to have already received a letter of award.
