South African player Sasol Petroleum is evaluating the possibility of exporting oil from its onshore Mozambican assets via a floating storage and offloading vessel sited in a sensitive, shallow water ecosystem.
It is early days but if the Johannesburg-listed player eventually decides to move ahead with this proposal, the Aframax-sized FSO unit could be up and running in late 2021.
The vessel would handle oil produced from Sasol’s Inhassoro discovery, currently under development, which will also produce gas and liquid petroleum gas.
